We had breakfast with J and J today. Having breakfast this morning was a great avenue for us to get to know them a little bit better.  They’re so different from us in a good way, of course. Ray and I, we are noisy, rough, arguementative, competitive and always bantering with each other. We’re both stubborn. We laugh at each other. But this couple, they’re so gentle and kind to each other.

The bride almost scalded her hand when she tipped the lid of the stainless steel teapot.. Groom was quick to react to hold her hand and said “Be careful, J”. Awwww, so sweet. Hmm… if the same thing were to happen to me, I think Ray would be saying.. why so clumsy! (exact words from Ray…Nah, he actually gets quite protective at times. To add to this, groom also opens the car door for bride. I think Ray stopped doing that before we even got engaged. In fact, we’re always driving different cars or I am at the driver seat at times.. Haha… I think we’re a lost case haha..

On the other hand, we had dinner with another couple K and C last night. These 2 are also different from us and JJ. They are also gentle with each other but I could see a bit more bantering here. I like the fact that they laugh at each other’s mistakes too. Now, I thought C would be more domineering but no, I think C listens to K too. I think K is a bit of a gentleman too… From afar at times, I think I caught K holding C’s bag or shopping bags.

Having said all these, I enjoy every moment of my bantering with my husband… I like the fact that we’re individualistic and together at the same time. I like how he gives me my freedom to take the train home eventhough he hates it. I like it that he and I can be at two different places to get different things then meet up somewhere. I like the fact that he shares house chores and cooking duties with me. We’re definitely far from being an ideal couple. I hope the above couples will continue to be kind and gentle to each other everyday of their lives. At the mean time, I shall try my best to be more gentle coz I know deep down, my husband likes that in a girl.

A gentle spirit …

My team SPOTS is really good. I think we haven’t lost a game yet, mainly due to the good players in the team (minus me). Gosh these colleagues of mine are really competitive but yet keeping it social at the same time.

Feels good to really get my heart pumping at a fast rate and playing with all these tall Aussies.

Good to do something different on a week night.

Hope to keep this going.

Need to keep being active and fit to keep the energy level up in preparation for motherhood! haha…

Brother in law put two big holes in our windows one month after moving in. Plastered back but never the same anymore coz the paint colour isnt the same.

and today… my father in law put a hole in the middle of the wall with good intention to hang up a beautiful picture frame he gave us. Unfortunately, there was a metal strip in between the walls..

what shall we replace this hole with? Another photo?

I wonder what’s next?

You cant really get mad coz they’re all family..

It’s finally that time of the year to think about the area of Occupational therapy I would like to venture into next year. I remembered persevering through 18 months of no rotation  whilst others were all venturing to other posts. I was glad my perseverance paid off because this year I was rotated to one of the most sought after position “Neurology”. I  really enjoy working with people with stroke and neurological deficits. It’s just so interesting to see how this disease affects a person  and here I learn to treasure the people around me. Anytime, young or old, fit, active or sedentary lifestyle.. it seriously doesnt matter because you can get sick anytime. Someone can be surfing and bammmm… you get a stroke! Or you just got home from work, get a headache and bammmmm you get a stroke! Thats why it’s so important to cover our love ones with much prayer of protection!

Well, another rotation is coming up early in the year. What area should I go to?

Answer is: I don’t know.

Just like now, I have a few other things to do but I just want to write a few lines.

Ray changed the look of the blog. I thought it was too girly for me but I came to like it.

Phuket trip was really good. I think I like Phuket more than Bali just for 1 reason alone and I think this reason just outweighs everything.

We simply love Thai food. I had the best Phad Thai, tom yum soup, green curry, red curry, papaya salad, street side banana pancake and a few awesome fish! Yes, love fish and lots of prawns! Talk about high cholesterol and absolutely no control of food intake hence the consequence of a few pounds added to the waist.

Apart from food, the hotel villa was just absolute blast! And both of us really enjoyed the room, the entrance to the private pool, the room service, the spa… I guess we can say we have been to one of the top 5 spa in Asia (according to the plaque there). We had lots of massages (nothing new). The room looks exactly as what you see in the photos! Now that’s complete opposite to our Bali one! Bali’s villa was old and somewhat dirty.

I had two Thai massage, one foot reflexology and one facial and not to forget my pedicure by a lady boy (He/She’s really hot! but I am no doubt more beautiful haha if you know what I mean).

Ray had two Swedish aromatherapy massage, two foot reflexology, one hand reflexology and one back and shoulder massage! Gosh, he’s crazy. How can one has that many in less than 1 week.

Oops my few lines turned out to be 14 lines!

Can’t wait for lots of R n R, massage, pampering, water sports jetski, parasailing and the works…

We have decided to work hard and play later.
I cried during the prayer time with Ray. Prayed for wisdom and blessing from God to help Ray be a good father. I know Ray will be a GREAT father!

My cooking has improved! Praise the Lord! It brings joy to me when Ray says nice and yum. I am also learning to be gracious and now i can able to take critiques from him when it comes to cooking. Well, it’s all a process so that I can be a better wife and mum next time. Ray also enjoys cooking, which is awesome.

Ray and I have separate chores we each are in charge of. Yay! This is probably one of the biggest breakthrough! Don’t misunderstand, Ray does his share of household chores too but maybe it wasn’t enough to me. So, one day, I had enough and I asked him… “So, Ray, tell me what are some chores you would like to do and I will complement by doing the ones you don’t like to do?” From there, we now have our own little departments! I so love the arrangement. So does he! No more mopping and cleaning the shower recess for me! (amongst other chores!)

Am back to exercising which is my biggest enjoyment! Started off with just tennis but I’ve added a few more to it. This week I went swimming, zumba, pilates and then tennis on Sunday.
I reckon I can handle doing this at least 3 times per week.
Exercising is great for the mind and body. Yes, I was sore, very sore this week but it’s all worth it.

With healthy eating, exercise and enriched marriage, friendship, family and God, I think I’ve got it but still lots of room for improvement in all areas.
