3 more sleeps to being Mrs Ong…

Well time just zooooomed past and now it’s only 3 sleeeps away, from gf to fiancee and now to “WIFE”

How do I feel?
ELATED!!! EXCITED!! BLESSED!!

Am I going to cry? .. Everyone said I will coz I cry in sappy movies and at friend’s wedding.. Hey you never know, maybe the groom first eh..

Biggest worry? hmm… if the makeup artist doesnt turn up! He is super crazy.. he has a bridal makeup at 3am before mine!! As the girls said, crazy bride.. nah.. i think biggest worry is ppl forget that it’s this Saturday and ppl not enjoying the wedding..

Biggest excitement? hahaha wedding night?

Biggest moment? Saying the vows before God and everyone..

Anxious and nervous? Yes, 100% abso-tingles-lutely!!

I guess I wont be a single lady at the next post!

4 more weeks..

Is it really just 4 more weeks to the wedding?

I think it is..

 

We’re still looking for a place to live. 

I know we have the option of staying with Ray’s parents temporarily. Is that the best option?

Rental market has been quite competitive as well. Each time I attend a house inspection, there seemed to be like 10 to 15 people there too. Not only that, house inspections aren’t very flexible as well. I kept needing to take an hour off at work or leave work early just to attend a house inspection and they don’t seem to think that people who are able to afford for the rental  are working full time. 

Having to rent and service a mortgage is quite challenging. Therefore, we need to find a place that’s affordable and livable at the same time. 

We visited one home today, fully furnished and rent includes bills. Only thing is, we will be sharing with another very friendly married couple and 2 cats. 

Should we or should we not? As you know, I am not a very animal friendly person. But, this place will give us the most flexibility and saving heaps!

 

Something to think about and most definitely pray about….

 

Next week, I am going to DYE my hair… woo.. cant wait.. I also feel like going for a facial.. felt like ages since I have pampered myself..

Bec and Ben’s wedding

Just attended the most  fun wedding.. My first ever Caucasian wedding

Civil ceremony was at Reverly at St Georges tce.. It’s an old chapel looking place which is a cafe by day but great small place for a wedding on weekends.. reception was at UWA Club.. It was great to see everyone dress up.. Being me, I hardly wear makeup, hair up all the time in my red polo tee, boy were they surprised when I had a frock on, makeup, contact lens, hair down nice and straight..

There was a 2 hours gap in between the ceremony and reception, all 13 of us went to Captain Stirling for some drinks.. just relax and chilling out..

It was a nice of fun.. The groom surprised the bride with a 15 mins FIREWORKS in front of Matilda Bay!!! Everyone stood in front of this island, lit up our own sparkles and i think that was the signal to start the fireworks!! OMG man… so sweet. Their special items from their bridesmaids were so sweet and another special item was a show girl dance by her best mates.. the family all did their boot scooting dance.. the bride had boots on too..

Dancing all night with my colleagues.. Bec’s family is really into dancing.. the parents, aunties, uncles, even the nieces and nephews were all very good dancers.. Well I hardly dance but tonight was just a great night to let my hair down and dance dance dance til my toes hurts… I think there was only 2 slow dance and the rest were more upbeat.. oh there was one  Ghostbuster song!

I am really excited for my own wedding now…. really really reallllllllllllly excited.. hahah hope ppl will dance a bit more at the wedding…  I cant wait to say “I AM MARRIED” … months and months of preparing for the wedding and now it’s only like 5 weeks away!!!! Wooo hooo… I was stressed before but now.. I m just going to relax and relax and cruise cruise because I am so going to enjoy my own wedding… hhehehe.. and I hope all of you will enjoy it too…

Who cares if the sound goes wrong or the walk in isnt syncronice (btw its a bit of an upbeat song too).. or the fact that i have many non believers comign to a churchy wedding…  As long as all of you are there with a smile to celebrate this joyous day with me.. thats enough..

most importantly, friends and Ting: relax and enjoy…. and a day of laughter and bubblies and more bubblies.. or wine..

Ohhhhh can’t wait..

Howdddyyyy…

Well, I have already attended 3 beautiful weddings…

Can’t wait for the next one > my first Aussie Aussie wedding< Am sure the wedding will be filled with wine, wine and more wine.. just the same as lots of cheese, cheese and cheese and also lots of dancing, dancing and dancing.. Bec has been dreaming of her wedding for many years and finally, in 7 sleeps time, it will be her BIG DAY!!! How exciting..

We had our work bridal shower yesterday.  All 3 of us brides had veils (bought 1m tulle from Spotlight), fake bouquets and lots of bubblies… When we entered the tea room, we were welcomed by a london bridge and we had to walk under their arms.. immediately after that, we threw our 3 bouquets! Played a little game and our big boss had to act as Victoria Beckham… Oh my cant stop laughing at this 60ish yr old woman parading like Posh Spice.. 

Anyhoo… well it’s pretty close to my wedding hey! OMG man… OMG indeed (sounds like Ray)

Read a book today (given to us by Ray’s uncle Pastor Peter) … It’s called “Rebekah, I Isaac take thee”

I dont read a lot of books and this is one I thoroughly recommend any couple who are preparing for their marriage.. I must admit, in the last few months, my thoughts werent at the marriage, but they were scattered among finding rental pl, building a pl, wedding, work etc.. etc.. and of coz, lots of rubbing shoulders with Ray..

No wonder ray’s uncle said to read the book before the wedding..

I am going to go apologise to Ray later when I see him..

Apologise for not being kind, gentle, supportive…

Dilemma on top of the 101 things…

My boss asked if I am interested in doing a 5 dayscourse this November to build upon my skills as a therapist..

Dept will fund it if I pass.. Course available only once every 2-3 years.. And its rare that its in Perth this year!

I would love to but… its at the first week of November and I have to do 10 case study within 3 months…

Am I at the right frame of mind to do it?

 What an opportunity to be singled out by the boss…

I cant decide…

White bomb…

We gave out some white bombs tonight… Feels a bit weird giving them out…

Normally people call it a red bomb when they receive a wedding invite… I call it white coz our invite is white in colour..

Like what are you meant to say? I did it jokingly to a few friends like “Hey, here’s your white bomb”.. or “Hey, you made it to the list”….whereas Ray was a bit more polite.. He said “Here’s the invite for you to our wedding”…

People I see 5/7 days…

I love my colleagues… We’re the RED team..

Joe and Dave bully me at work all te time.. Dave is like my partner in crime coz he’s the other “Asian” .. he’s more Australian Born Indian. and no he doesnt do Indian dance.. Joe just says F* here and there all the time. and he is the morning tea dude.. makes us meet for coffee for half an hour every Mon/Wed/Fri..  But my life in the OT Dept will be pretty dull without them..

Thats Bec the sexy ginger head who is also getting married! I am taking ten days off work.. but she is taking one freaking month!!! I am going to Bali and she is going to UK!! Oh my… and thats me in my red shirt! Proud to be in red..

Well these are just some of the people I see 5/7 days… They make my working life very enjoyable.. We’re always interested in one another’s lunch, life, work, partners, and of course Friday night drinks at Milligans.. and also, our weekly morning teas.. slacking away for half an hour…

I hope my rotation will be within the same place and not to shents though i believe my skills will go up two levels if i go to shents but work life relationship may not be the same like it is now.. everyone is so genuine and gets along well with one another…

System Overload..

Today is one of those days that I felt like I have had a system overload..

I was somewhat frustrated when I saw my phone calendar… some event/appointment every other night..

Perhaps its work stress, personal stress and everything just compounded..

but dont worry I didnt go mad… I just needed to practise my calming technique I teach my clients..

 

My recent Stress management group at work MUST BE the cause of my current mental state

I think about it before I go to sleep, when I wake up, when I am on the train, when I am at work! Thinking about how to change it, restructure it, make it more relevant…

 

The story

A client got really angry with me.. He flared up in front of the group of 10 clien as he did not find value in the group…  Well he was already negative from the beginning when I greeted him.. WHat a pain!

Then my group volunteer got upset with him and lashed out at him.. He was simply protecting me.. and of coz this 70yr old man has a soft spot for me…

 

Then the rehab coordinator told the volunteer off because the client has the right to disagree with the service provided.. then my volunteer got really upset…

And to maintain our professionalism, we can’t show our unhappiness or even more, we cant fight back..

As I always say, I dont want to end up being on Today Tonight! Since then, my mind has been on this incident.. But i think its good in a way, it gave me more drive to modify and restructure the contents of the group…

 

Well to destress, Ray, Nikki and I went to Royal Bar for a cuppa..

Of course, a glass of red wine would be more inviting but it’s a weeknight so I had to practise some self-control..

And we finished off our discussion for the invites and its absolutely AWESOME…

God has indeed given Nikki a very creative gift…

And we used the free wireless there too…

 

A day off = a day of feasting = 2 gluttons..

Ray and I had a day off on Thursday! As it’s my work’s rostered day off, Ray decided to join me and together, we have a day of feasting and cheap thrills.

The day started out with a pleasant surprise! Ray Ong actually got me some roses (Coles hahhahahah).. Hey first time ever k!

Tho he doesnt pamper me with flowers, he pampers me through the stomach all the time!! I guess it benefits him as well.. Our morning Aussie breakfast.. 

 Well, we then head off to Barrack St Jetty via the Transperth ferry! Well, Perth boy hasnt been on it so it was cheap thrill for him.. 

Stood underneath the ferris wheel for a while, lay on the grass for a while, went to Bell tower lobby for a while..

Beautiful weather. just look at the clear blue sky!… We were both in shorts and our runners.. but it was darn cold!!

In between morning and 3pm, Ray had a haircut, we had a rest at home… Lo and behold, it’s 3pm! And we’re still full!.. Went to UWA club for our menu tasting.. Gosh, we had 3 course meal within 1.5 hours!!! Food was awesome.. Well we were a bit greedy, we had three mains (beef, chix and salmon) coz we were thinking of Choice menu.. Thank God we tried three as 2/3 mains were unfortunately disappointing.. so we changed it.. Yes, by the end of the day, I felt like a glutton! Well at least, we’ve sorted this part of the wedding. Our events manager is very friendly, nice, lovely and just really really really good at what she does… Makes us feel so welcome and at ease..

Oh on top of that, some P plate driver almost bang into us, and of course, Ray had a very very satifsying HHOOOOONNNNNKKKKKKKKKKKK HONK HONK HONK HONK at the dude.. Poor driver had a fright from the amazingly long and loud HONKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK….

Overall, fulfilling day! But I was swamped with work today! Bad move to have the rostered day off before the real day off! I shall choose a Monday or a following Friday!

Next, Sunday is wee wee bday! Another feast…
